When I say free samples I mean FREE samples. When I was pregnant with my first I started to search for the best of everything for my child. From shampoos to baby toothbrushes, I wanted the safest, healthiest, and “best for the job-est.”
To get the best, you have to try the best, so I dove into the world of samples. I compiled a list of the top recommendations from blogs and parents. Then I gathered the supplies, taking advantage of as many samples available as possible. I even tried samples that nobody recommended. The results were actually very surprising.
I always tried baby soaps and shampoos on myself first, then my littles, looking out for any signs of allergies or sensitivities. The samples sometimes were better (in cleaning, smell, or ingredients) than the other blog recommended products! I will share my findings as I have time, because I tried many products.
All of these were free baby product samples!
To stay on the topic of free samples, all you often have to do is pay for shipping and handling, and they will ship out the samples to you. The list below are the ones I used and I paid NOTHING for them! It took me about 20 minutes to set all of them up, and the samples came rolling in.
The baby lotion samples helped me find our favorite brand!
These samples ended up being excellent backups!
Target - (Target Registry)
- Create an online baby registry and make it public.
- Then go into any target, go to customer service and ask (they are often out). You can also try to get it online through the registry when you make an order over $30 you just pay $.05.
- With both kids, they didn’t scan my phone in store, so I was able to get one in store and one online.
- You also will get a coupon for 15% off. It can be used once in store and once online for items on your registry.
- Because I have winter babies I put loads of holiday gifts, clothes for all of us and some food. The discount worked for almost everything.
- ** even if you do not have a target near you I would still register as you can use the 15% discount once online and it is stocked with other items.
Amazon - (Amazon Registry)
- Create a registry then once someone (could be you) purchases $30 or more you can go in and ship the welcome box to yourself for free.
- My husband and I both have Amazon accounts and we both could do this.
Benefits: You receive a 15% discount that can be used twice on select leftover baby registry items. The discount becomes available before your due date, so you can stock up on baby items before your bundle arrives. You can also use the second discount after your little one has arrived. There are many more benefits not listed but you do need to read the fine print.
Walmart - (Walmart Registry)
- Create a registry.
- Don’t forget to copy paste your baby registry information here to receive the free baby box. Here
Freebies without a Registry
Similac - (Similac Rewards)
If you sign up for Similac’s reward program they will send you coupons that can be used at your local store.
Enfamil - (Enfamil Rewards)
I highly recommend signing up for the Enfamil reward program. Once you sign up, they will send you two small cans of formula and coupons that can be used at your local store.
Huggies & Pampers Diapers
Both of these diaper companies have reward programs on their mobile apps that you use to scan in your diaper purchases to earn coupons and freebies.
Why did I sign up for formula companies when I planned to breastfeed? The truth is very few things in my life have gone as planned, so I wanted a backup plan. I am SO thankful I planned for backup formula. Both of my kids lost too much weight the first few days and needed more than what I could nurse/pump, so these backup cans came in handy.
Honorary mention:
Dolly Parton imagination library - it is not in many areas, but it 100% is a wonderful organization to help all children with literacy. This organization is doing big things, and I highly recommend checking to see if your area qualifies you for a free monthly book for your little.
